Post-Treatment Care

Massage Aftercare

Get the most from your massage therapy by following these simple aftercare tips

Your massage treatment doesn't end when you leave our studio. How you care for your body in the hours and days following your massage can significantly impact the benefits you receive. Following these simple guidelines will help you maximise the therapeutic effects and support your body's natural healing process.

General Aftercare Tips

These guidelines apply to most massage treatments and will help you get the best results

Stay Hydrated

essential

Drink plenty of water after your massage. This helps flush out toxins released from your muscles during the treatment. Aim for 6-8 glasses over the next 24 hours.

Take a Warm Bath

recommended

A warm bath with Epsom salts can help prolong the relaxation benefits and ease any muscle soreness. Avoid very hot baths immediately after treatment.

Eat Light

recommended

Have a light, nutritious meal after your massage. Avoid heavy, rich foods and alcohol for at least a few hours as your body is in a state of detoxification.

Avoid Strenuous Activity

essential

Give your muscles time to recover. Avoid intense exercise, heavy lifting, or strenuous activities for 24-48 hours after your massage.

Rest & Relax

essential

Your body needs time to heal and integrate the benefits of the massage. Try to get a good night's sleep and avoid stressful situations if possible.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures

recommended

Skip the sauna, steam room, or very hot showers for 24 hours. Your circulation is already stimulated, and extreme heat can cause dizziness.

Listen to Your Body

important

Some mild soreness is normal, especially after deep tissue work. This usually subsides within 24-48 hours. Contact us if discomfort persists.

Notice the Benefits

tip

Pay attention to how your body feels over the next few days. You may notice improved sleep, reduced tension, and increased mobility.

Thai Foot Reflexology Aftercare

Additional specific advice for after your reflexology treatment

Increase Water Intake

Reflexology stimulates the lymphatic system and helps release toxins. Drinking extra water helps your kidneys flush these out effectively.

Rest Your Feet

Avoid standing for long periods or wearing tight shoes for the rest of the day. Let your feet breathe and recover.

Gentle Movement

Light walking is fine, but avoid running or high-impact activities. Gentle foot exercises can help maintain circulation.

Early Night

Many people feel deeply relaxed or even sleepy after reflexology. Listen to your body and get an early night if needed.

Normal Post-Massage Reactions

Feeling tired or sleepy
Increased urination as toxins are flushed out
Mild muscle soreness (especially after deep tissue)
Emotional release or feeling emotional
Increased thirst
Feeling energised or having a 'healing high'
